Photos of fishing trips, I have added these to the gallery, because they represent how people spent their free time back in the mid 20th century. One can only imagine how far they traveled to get to their favorite fishing spot, or how long it took.
If you look at their faces you can see that were full of joy for being outside, relaxing with friends, a lot of my photos show the obstacles they had trying to get to these faraway places, no 4wheel drive vehicles in those days, I have many photos of cars from the 1930 to 1940 that have rolled down the side of mountains, model T fords stuck in the snow, some of them stuck in floods, some of these photographs show the family’s still inside the vehicle waiting to be rescued Of course the roads were very primitive and the bridges were non existent in most cases.But that never stopped them going fishing.

In some of these photos of fishing trips, one can only guess at what they were thinking of out there in the bush or along the valleys, maybe they were thinking of the impending war or maybe they were only thinking of the great meal of freshly caught trout cook on the camp fire that night.

Photos of fishing are one of my favorite collection as hard as it was to pick just a few for this website, I could have made it much larger with at least 100. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have, maybe it will send you off with your fishing rod in hand, if so, good luck
